Mrs. Gloria C. Butts, 89, of 1216 Connors Rd., Auburn passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Auburn Community Hospital with family by her side. Gloria was born May 3, 1926 in Washington, DC the daughter of the late George and Nora (Hoffman) Schumate. She was retired from General Products in Union Springs. She was a member of the American Legion Post 1107 Auxillary and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Union Springs. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed outdoor activities. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Edward L. Butts, Sr., brothers Donald, Lloyd, and Gordon , by her sisters Lucille and Dorothy and by a grandson Warren. She is survived by her two sisters Barbara Hood and Joann Ferryman, a daughter Margaret L. Solfiell and companion William of Westboro, Mass.; two sons Charles T. Butts and wife Alecia of Auburn and Edward L. Butts, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Union Springs; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, September 4 at 10AM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church , Union Springs. Internment will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Union Springs.
