ROCHESTER — Eunice Gilmore Pedley peacefully passed on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, in Rochester, N.Y., at the age of 93. Eunice was born in Auburn to the late Earl and Agnes Tully Gilmore. As a young child her family lived in Throopsville, N.Y., near many Gilmore relatives. The family, including siblings, Joan, Leonard "Curly," and Clayton "Sam," moved to Prospect Street, Auburn. Eunice graduated from Central High School, where for two years she was the Drum Majorette for the All Auburn High Marching Band. On May 5, 1945, she married Theodore C. Pedley. After a brief stint in Miami and Key West, Fla., during World War II, Ted and Eunice returned to Auburn to raise their family. In addition to her parents, Eunice was predeceased by her husband, Theodore; three devoted sons, Thomas, James, and William Pedley; siblings, Joan Cryderman and Leonard Gilmore. Eunice is survived by her brother, Clayton Gilmore; is the beloved mother of daughters, Linda (John) Schwartz, Susan (James) Talamo, and Joan (Michael) Lucas; grandmother of eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Eunice centered her life around faith and family. A favorite hymn she so enjoyed with her friends at Calvary Presbyterian Church was "Lord You Have Come to the Lakeshore" vs. 3-4 by Pescador. At Eunice's request, there will be no formal calling hours, with private burial in Soule Cemetery.
