Dear Lynn, Stuart Jr, and Family and Friends:
I was saddened to learn of the death of Martha on May 27, 2016. Even though I did not know Martha personally, please accept my deepest sympathy at your loss.
I would like to share with you some verses from the Bible that bring comfort, thoughts that others have shared with me when I lost loved ones.
First, it was never our Creator's purpose that anyone should die, ever! When He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they had the prospect of endless life in ageless bodies, in perfect health, on a perfect Earth (Genesis 1:28). Adam and Eve could have passed that life on to us, but they sinned and lost everything for themselves ... and us. (Romans 5:12)
Next, it comforted me and softened my feelings toward Jehovah God to learn that it is Satan who causes aging, sickness, and death--not God (Hebrews 2:14). Long before He created humans, the Creator already had all the angels He wanted in heaven (Job 38:7).
Finally, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are our guarantees that this Earth will yet be a peaceful, global paradise and that Martha (and countless millions of others, including Stuart Sr and Vera and Jack) will be resurrected to enjoy it! Remember Jesus' words at John 5:28-29a and John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life," and "all those in the memorial tombs ... will be resurrected." Until then Martha, Rest In Peace.
May you have comfort and peace from these promises until the day when you can be reunited with a young and healthy Martha. And, ... if you would ever like to know more about when and how our Creator Jehovah will bring about these wonderful blessings (or why He has allowed sickness, suffering and death since Adam and Eve sinned so long ago), please feel free to contact me at the address below.
With deepest sympathy and genuine respect,
Harolyne Grant

I was lucky to serve with Marty for part of the time she was employed by the Cayuga County Community College Foundation. She brought invaluable insight to our work and was a valuable contributor to the success of our campaign. Marty knew the community well, and shared her leadership, knowledge and community contacts with the Foundation board and President Golladay, and these additions enhanced our success. She was a valuable part of the advancement team, and she was a good friend who made work fun while working hard to make things work. I will miss her.

Great memories of our times together at Columbia and the many reunions thereafter, including those at Hilton Head and Daufuskie Island. Am thinking of Marty's family at this most difficult time.

To Marty's family,
It is sad to read of Marty's passing. My Marty story was the first time I go to golf with the women of OCC and my foursome is three other really good "older" golfers and me...scared to death. I rode with Marty and had a great time and enjoyed golfing with her over the years. A friend sent me a note that she was sorry to read about Marty because she was always so nice to her when we golfed together.
My condolences to the family.
