Dear Sue, Jennifer, Bill, Tom, Liz, and Family and Friends:
I was saddened to learn of the death of David on June 14, 2016 after battling an illness. It is sad to lose a loved one at any age, but at just 49 years, it is nothing short of tragic. Even though I did not know David personally, please accept my deepest sympathy at your loss.
I would like to share with you some verses from the Bible that bring comfort, thoughts that others have shared with me when I lost loved ones, especially my parents.
First, it was never our Creator's purpose that anyone should die, ever! When He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they had the prospect of endless life in ageless bodies, in perfect health, on a perfect Earth (Genesis 1:28). Adam and Eve could have passed that life on to us, but they sinned and lost everything for themselves, ... and us. (Romans 5:12)
Next, it comforted me and softened my feelings toward Jehovah God to learn that it is Satan who causes aging, sicknesses like cancer, and death--not God (Hebrews 2:14). Long before He created humans, the Creator already had all the angels He wanted in heaven (Job 38:7).
Finally, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are our guarantees that this Earth will yet be a peaceful, global paradise and that David (and countless millions of others) will be resurrected to enjoy it! Remember Jesus' words at John 5:28-29a and John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life," and "all those in the memorial tombs ... will be resurrected." Until then David, Rest In Peace.
May you have comfort and peace from these promises until the day when you can be reunited with a young and healthy David. And, ... if you would ever like to know more about when and how our Creator Jehovah will bring about these wonderful blessings (or why He has allowed sickness, suffering and death since Adam and Eve sinned so long ago), please feel free to contact me at the address below.
With deepest sympathy and genuine respect,
Harolyne Grant

To the Entire Ferlenda Family,
Though David is the only member I knew of his direct family, I do want to extend my deepest and sincerest sympathy in the shocking (to me) passing of Dave.
It has been years since last crossing paths with Dave, as he was the tech from the cable co. where he worked (at that time) that installed and hooked everything up in my home. He was the absolute best at what he did and the patience of a saint with all my questions. I wished I had been able to cross paths with him since then, but he was so good at what he did and his knowledge of anything technical.
His wonderful sense of humor is what I remember most. He must have kept all of you laughing all the time. And of course, that smile of his--warm and kind. Of course I did not know of his recent issues and I am so very very sorry for what took him away from you.
May wonderful memories do their best in getting you thru this difficult time. A bright light may have gone out here on Earth, but an even brighter one will shine from above. Again, my sympathies go out to all of you. May God bless you.

Dear Liz, Tom, Sue, Tricia, Crissy and all Ferlenda cousins:
It is with a heavy heart that I write this today. As I have searched for the right words to express my heartbreak for you over the last few days, I discovered that which I already knew...there are no words. While I never had the opportunity to get to know David well, I know my parents (Frank and Bridget Ferlenda) thought the world of him. Based on this beautiful tribute, I can tell he fit the profile of all the Ferlenda men, "gentle-hearted, loving and kind". Please know our entire family send our love and support for you today and always.

Dearest Sue, Tom, Liz and Family,
Words can't even begin to express the sadness that is in my heart for your family. David was such a great kid and man. I can only remember him by all the fun days we had at Dominick's in Auburn, with Dave Siracusa, Marc Aversa and Jim O'Hora. It was a special friendship and many days I had to go get him up out of bed in the attic, to get him to work on time. We loved and laughed so many times that it is hard to count how much fun we had. These boys. now men, became my kids to me. My heart is broken and will never be the same. I will always keep David and his family in my prayers.

Praying for all of you at this time. Please know I am praying for strength, peace and love for your family.
I always was intrigued by David. I can remember in high school and the years afterwards seeing him either at his parents house and occasionally to David and Sue's home. I remember that David always had a smile and was full of life and joking around. He made you smile and always gave each person some attention. I think I had a secret crush on him as well, but that was an attraction to a kind, funny, loving guy who was just darn sweet. It has been a very long time since I have seen David as I moved south years ago. But isn't it funny that I can remember his voice and his laugh and feel his kindness and his smile? After all these years....his mom Liz and my mom Susan were best friends and I looked up to him and he left an impression of kindness on me where I can still remember. I hope that these verses from the bible can bring you some comfort for awhile.
John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Psalms 23:4 - Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Sue, Jenny, and Billy-I am so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for all you have been through. It has been some time since I've seen you Sue, and Dave, but the love the two of you shared for each other and your children amazed me. The two of you were a couple of the kindest, sweetest people I have known. Always with a smile on your faces and love in your hearts.

I had the honor to grow up in a neighborhood with older guys like David to keep you in line. Dave was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He taught us how to walk the line and be respectful and he and his buddies didn't hesitate to give us a beating if we got out of line. He came from a great family, was a terrific family man and will forever be missed. May you rest in peace Dave. --- Dooner

My heart is so broken for all of you. I am so very sad for the loss each and everyone of you in the family is going to feel. It is times like these I have to walk in faith because it is so hard to understand why we loose love ones at such a young age. I wish none of you had to embrace a broken heart that is so deep. I can't even think of David without tears knowing how much you will miss him. What a nice lookng and sweet hearted man.His smile says it all and no one close to him will ever forget it. Sue I wish he was still here with you I know he would want to be. I know you will all support each other and David knows that his wife and children will be loved and cared for by so many. I just can not express how very sorry I am that you have to live through some sad days ahead. With much love and many many prayers God be with you in the days aheadxxxxxxxxooooooooooooooo. Lord please help this wonderful family with their loss of such a special man... Rest in Peace David and know you are loved so dearly

This is so difficult. I have known all of you for most of my life. I have great memories of all of you because of our simple friendship. This was not in the plan. At least our plan. We will never ever let David's spirit be forgotten. Life will go on for us yes, but it will never be the same. I imagine when I die, a hand reaching out of the clouds for me to grab to bring me to heaven - it will be Dave's and he'll show me around. Love you all.

Jenn & Sue,
Our lives have become more entwined & enriched over the years through the friendships of your family with Caroline, the Daloias, Liberatores, Herricks, and the others that are part of your circle of friends, and it breaks our hearts to see your family endure so much pain and the sudden loss of David. I wish we could have spent more time with him and gotten to know him better. His spirit, love of music & traveling, and his dedication to and love for his family made him someone I wish we could have called our friend, and enjoyed spending time with doing all those things we have in common and love. From our family to both of you and your entire family, we are so sorry for your loss, our thoughts & prayers are with you. If you need some time away for anything you know Abbie is always a welcome guest, and we are here for anything you might possibly need.

This was shocking news today. Dave and I were great friends when we were young. As we got older we drifted apart only to run into each other a few times over the past 30 years. I have so many fond memories of him and his family. I love you all! God bless you all. Dave was a great guy and I will forever miss him. Please keep me informed of his service as I would like to be there (I live in Atlanta).
