David was a awesome guy that I have many fond memories of over the years. One, of that smiling Irish man with always a kind word for everyone he met. He loved his children and family and all his real close friends, and working.

I met Dave about 12 years ago. He and I became fast friends. He would come over by himself or bring Trevor with him. He was such a great guy. He was there when I was going through some rough times and could brighten up my day. We had a falling out a few years back. I wish I could have gotten in touch to work things out. Even though we no longer hung out I still thought of him fondly and I will miss him greatly. He was a very loving and caring person and I know he cared and loved his boys dearly. I will look back and always be thankful for the time I spent with him.

Dear Gary and Family,
"Smitty" and his Right Profile band mates were quite simply the most exciting and influential band to come out of Auburn. They brought a generation of young people into the punk era complete with all-ages shows and a DIY ethic.
Their shows were pure performance art; exciting, unpredictable and always audience involving. No two were ever, ever the same and they had a devoted following, including this writer. I remember seeing one of their earliest shows at the old National Hotel and being totally blown away!
The Right Profile would go on to establish new music venues in the area like Cats in Skaneateles, Jitz's, the UNC club, the Roadhouse, and the Pavillion at the lake(reclaimed from the fifties and sixties lake dances.). They connected kids to the vibrant Syracuse Punk Scene featuring bands like the Catatonics, One Death Two, B-Solution and the Wallmen.
"Smitty" was a dynamic frontman and guitarist and even though Donnie became the "face" of the group, I believe "Smitty" was it's heart and soul. Thank you so much, "Smitty." You made the Auburn Music Scene something very
special.
We miss you.
