Obituary of Dolores M. Scanlan
Dolores M. Scanlan, 94, of Stryker Homes, formerly of Perry St., Auburn, passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2017. Born in Bradford, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose Gausman Meyer. She was a graduate of Bradford High School and married Richard Scanlan on May 14, 1945. They shared a beautiful life together until his death in 2000. She was employed as a teller at both the former Marine Midland Bank and National Bank of Auburn. She later retired in 1987 from the Lattimore Insurance Agency where she was an insurance underwriter for ten years. Dolores was an avid reader and enjoyed her exercise at the Y pool and her Thursday morning coffee group. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. She was immensely proud of her loving family and enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them .
She is survived by her children Eileen (Ted) Cicora, Martha Petrosino and John (Ann) Scanlan; nine grandchildren, Lisa Riley, Tim and Jeff Cicora, Eric, Brian, Christopher and Brendan Scanlan, Marc and Joseph Petrosino; and by many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was predeceased by her sisters, Monica Malone and Amelia Nye and by a brother Norbert Meyer.
Friends are invited to visit the family on Sunday April 30 from 4-6pm at Langham Funeral Home, LLC. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church followed by a private family entombment in St. Joseph's Mausoleum.
