Obituary of Janice Hatch
Janice H. Hatch, 94, formerly of Auburn, died December 2, 2017 in Boca Raton, Florida. Born in Auburn, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Thelma (LeFevre) Hockeborn. Janice resided in Auburn until recently and was Herman Ave. School's secretary for many years. She was a former deacon and life long member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Janice was an accomplished knitter making intricate baby/children's sweaters, booties, hats, mittens, and blankets for her family, friends, and the community. In 2008 she received an award from the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for volunteering more than 2000 hours knitting infant articles for the needy.
She is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne (Michael) Jones and Barbara (James) Brownlee; a brother, Carl Hockeborn; grandchildren Daniel Jones, Kelly VonGunten, Amy Perez and Kathryn Brinson; six great grandchildren, Abby and Dean VonGunten, Jake and Charlie Perez, Bree and Chase Brinson, and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Earl P. Hatch in 1996.
