Richard A. Gleason (Dick), 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home with his family by his side following a brief illness. Mr. Gleason graduated from Colgate University in 1954 and Syracuse Law School in 1957. He was a partner at Boyle & Anderson Law Firm and retired in 2002 at the age of 70. He served as Justice of the Peace for the City of Auburn from 1961-1967 and as assistant corporate counsel for the City of Auburn in 1968. He was a member of many organizations, which included St. Anne's Church, Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, Cayuga County Bar Association, Owasco County Club and the YMCA. He was an avid golfer, hunter, gardener, and handball player. His family, friends and neighbors were the recipients of many fresh vegetables over the years. Mr. Gleason was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, JoAnne Mottern Gleason and by their daughter, Laurie. He is survived by his sons Mark (Debbie Dziadula), Kevin (Connie), Harry (Annette), Rich (Katie); 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to visit the family on Thursday October 18 from 5-7pm at Langham Funeral Home,LLC. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at Sacred Heart Church followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
