Dave, I am so sorry for your loss. Charlie was a large presence in my life from a young age. Possibly about 10 years old or so. He and my Mom, Janet Stubbs, dated on and off for several decades. I remember once he took me fishing and he tried to teach me how to cast my line. I kept getting it stuck in the tree behind me. By the fifth time he said "Let's go" in his Charlie voice. I am sure she and Harriett were there to greet him at his crossing.
