Obituary of Francis J. Lynch Jr.

Francis J. Lynch, Jr. (affectionately known as "JR") 81, of Auburn, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at Crouse Hospital. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Dorothy (Best) Lynch, Sr. He was a West High School graduate and was an outstanding pitcher for the Auburn baseball team. JR was a US Naval veteran who proudly served this great country from 1963 to 1969. He was a retired toolmaker for 40 years with Welch Allyn.

JR was an avid sports fan who loved to cheer on the SU basketball team, the SU and Philadelphia Eagles football teams, and especially the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He was a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church. JR cherished his family above all else. When he wasn't watching sports, you could find him dining out with his wife, who was truly his best friend in this world. They enjoyed many wonderful vacations throughout their marriage.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda (Loomis) Lynch, his daughter Nicole (Scott) Hulik; three wonderful and caring grandchildren, Nathan Warter, whom he shared a special bond with, and Mitchell and Kacie Hulik. Also surviving are his sister Donna (Don) Harkness and their children Richard and Jennifer; in-laws, Alan and Barbara Loomis and their children, Jennifer (Mike) Losani and Jodie (Scott) Fedigan and several special great nieces and nephews. JR was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Fischer.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 22 from noon to 1 pm at Langham Funeral Home, LLC. Private services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
