Obituary of Sharon Blaisdell

Sharon Blaisdell, 64, of 2398 Dublin Road, Auburn, New York, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Syracuse, New York, she was the daughter of the late Carleton Hare and Gloria Fostin Hare. She was a 1969 West High School graduate and was employed for several years at the former Hofbrau Restaurant, where she worked alongside her Mother, Gloria. Most recently, she worked as a loving Nanny to several Skaneateles and Auburn area families where she cared for them as her own. Sharon enjoyed antiquing, reading, and was a great historian of the Civil War. She took great joy and pride in maintaining her home and flower gardens. She loved to cook while dancing in the kitchen with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and especially enjoyed the hummingbirds who visited her feeders regularly. Sharon was a very Spiritual person who cherished the time she spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael Blaisdell; her children, Timothy, Tammy and Christie Blaisdell, all of Auburn; a sister, Patricia Watkins of Auburn, New York; six grandchildren who lovingly called Sharon, "Bonna", Victoria and Nicholas Blaisdell, Jacob Wieczorek, Lillie Tanner-Blaisdell, Maggie and Jude Blaisdell, several nieces and nephews, and by many "adopted" children and grandchildren she thought of as her own. Also surviving is her close friend and care giver, Trudy Sweeney of Cayuga. In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by a grandchild Connor Wilson, by an infant brother Carleton Hare, and by a brother Kevin Hare. It was Sharon's wish to have no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, July 28 at 10am at St. Mary's Church in Auburn. Burial in Fort Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
