Laura McMahon, 84, of Miller Rd., Auburn, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at St. Camillus Health & Rehab Center. Born in North Pitcher, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Goldie (Peak) Gates Freeman. Laura was a graduate of Cincinnatus High School and earned her RN Degree from Binghamton Nursing School. She was employed at Cortland Memorial Hospital and later as nurse supervisor at both Mercy Rehabilitation Center and Finger Lakes Center for Living. Laura retired in her early 70's but her passion remained strong for helping others. If not a patient, a family member, friend or neighbor was always receiving her care and attention. Laura and her late husband Ralph worked hand in hand for over twenty years on their family dairy farm. Laura's favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. She is survived by her children Margaret (Charlie) Keegan, Timothy (Catherine) McMahon, Barbara (Terry)Hale and Matthew McMahon; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph McMahon and by a brother Paul Gates, Jr. Calling hours will be Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 9-11:15AM at Langham Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 AM at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery.
