Ronald R. Abrams, "Ron", 83, of 15 Aldrich Ave., Auburn passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lucille White Abrams. Following graduation from High School, Ronald was an Army veteran serving his Country from 1952 until 1960. He was a truck driver for 30 years for several local transport companies. He retired from NYS Canal Corporation as a lock operator where he was stationed at Waterloo, Lock 4. Ron was a volunteer fireman for Owasco Fire Dept. #1 for 45 years. He enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events and was one of their biggest fans cheering them along. Ron was an avid Yankee, SU and Dolphin fan and also looked forward to attending as many Auburn Double Days games as possible. He traveled many places with his wife Diane but their favorite trips were always to Florida and Las Vegas. In his spare time, he found gardening to be one of his favorite past times. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Diane Wood Abrams; two children, Wendy Cowan of Canandaigua and Brian Abrams of Warrensburg, NY ; 2 grandchildren, Austin and Mackenzie Cowan, a local niece Karen (Dave) Henry as well as other nieces and nephews and by his loyal and beloved dog, Bridget. Calling hours will be Wednesday November 11 from 11:30 to 1:30PM with funeral services at 1:45PM at Langham Funeral Home, LLC. Burial will be in Sand Beach Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Owasco Fire Dept. #1, Owasco Rd., Auburn, NY 13021 in memory of Ron. The family would like to thank the staff at Auburn Community Hospital CCU for all the wonderful care Ron received.
