Jim will always hold a special place in my heart. I had the honor of being his nurse many times and got to know Jim pretty well. We shared many laughs and tears. Even through difficulties that most people will never experience, Jim would be making his nurses and doctors laugh or feel good in some way. That’s a hard thing to do that you don’t see very often from patients. I haven’t seen Jim in a couple years but was struck today learning of his passing like I had lost my own family member. Love and miss you Jim.

Kelly thank you so very much for your memories of Jim. You are a special nurse and friend to both Jim and I. You made the transplant journey so much easier to handle. We both were so happy to hear how your family has grown. Thank you for being such a special, caring person. With love, Shelly

I am so sorry for your loss Shelly. I remember when I worked in the food and nutrition department and Jim was one of my patient's. The talks we shared, how encouraging he was, always full of joy... he even played a part in leading me to my current husband. He has blessed our lives. Ricky and I send our condolences. Jim will never be forgotten.

Shelly and Chris I wish to express my condolences and sympathy to you both. Your husband and father was greatly admired and respected as a youth growing up in Lisbon,Ohio. His smile and ability to work with others for common purposes was a trait that spilled over to others. He was a leader, and that leadership will be missed.

Shelly, Chris & Family,
Jim was one of the first people who welcomed me to Auburn when I first moved here and joined the Y. What a wonderful person Jim was. His huge smile lit up the room and his healthy, fun, banter was always welcomed. Jim represented Auburn so well you would have never known he wasn’t from there. He brought his midwestern touch to those adults and kids and will leave Auburn a better place because of it. Jim will be really missed. #GoBuckeyes

Jim will always be remembered in Lisbon as a man with great basketball skills, a love of his family and friends and his town!
His huge personality added to his leadership skills and his care for others. We offer deepest sympathies to his family and hopefully some comfort that especially Jim’s classmates and teammates will smile in admiration of a man who made quite an impression on Lisbon!

Jim was a great basketball player in high school. It was an honor to play ball with him. I know Jim had a really tough time these 10 years or so. Everyone kind of goes their own way after high school so I did not see Jim for years after high school except one time I was in Alliance, Ohio and ran into him at the YMCA. Got to talk to him another time when he was in the hospital up in Rochester, NY. I always knew how tough this guy was from playing ball together; however when he was confined to the hospital waiting for a heart, it really showed incredible Strength, Endurance & Courage ! I am sure Jim will be missed by many. Stan B.
