Dear Marie, Robin, and all of Elwood's children, and Other Family and Friends:
I was saddened to learn of the death of Elwood on May 18, 2015. It is sad to lose a loved one in death at any age, but hopefully at 86 years of age, it can be said of Elwood what was said of Isaac at Genesis 25:39 "he died old and satisfied with days." Even though I did not know Elwood personally, please accept my deepest sympathy in this second year of your loss.
I would like to share with you some verses from the Bible that bring continuing comfort, thoughts that others have shared with me when I lost loved ones.
First, it was never our Creator's purpose that anyone should die, ever! When He put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they had the prospect of endless life in ageless bodies, in perfect health, on a perfect Earth (Genesis 1:28). Adam and Eve could have passed that life on to us, but they sinned and lost everything for themselves ... and us. (Romans 5:12)
Next, it comforted me and softened my feelings toward Jehovah God to learn that it is Satan who causes aging, sicknesses like cancer, and death--not God (Hebrews 2:14). Long before He created humans, the Creator already had all the angels He wanted in heaven (Job 38:7).
Finally, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are our guarantees that this Earth will yet be a peaceful, global paradise and that Elwood (and countless millions of others) will be resurrected to enjoy it! Remember Jesus' words at John 5:28-29a and John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life," and "all those in the memorial tombs ... will be resurrected." Until then Elwood, Rest In Peace.
May you have comfort and peace from these promises until the day when you can be reunited with a young and healthy Elwood. And, ... if you would ever like to know more about when and how our Creator Jehovah will bring about these wonderful blessings (or why He has allowed sickness, suffering and death since Adam and Eve sinned so long ago), please feel free to contact me at the address below.
With deepest sympathy and genuine respect,
Harolyne Grant

I've known Ray and a large part of his family since about 1981. I do have to say one thing about Ray. You always knew where he stood on subject. I had give him a lot of respect about that. Not once never that I can remember when he was full of BS. Funny stories, he had a quite a few of them. I enjoyed going up to the yard and giving him a hand. Cutting cars up for his trips to Roth Steel. I used to bring my oldest son with me to help. I would loosen lug nuts up and have my son "help" me. Ray started calling him lug nut. When I've asked Ray when I have seen him. He would reply "Mean Rotten and merserable as always". I know he put on a bit of an act about that. I'm sorry I missed the calling hours and service. I saw Ray"s Obituary when I was having some lunch before work this afternoon. I've taken Rays last advice he gave me, I wear a hat outside. Tom cat, Kevin, Elwood and others I know I've missed. So sorry about your father passing away
